What is Worship?

Simply, worship is an art - the art of paying obeisance to authority or royalty. In Christianity, it has been viewed as the ritual of Sunday service and/or the other "church" activities we may be able to partake in. The slow songs we sing in church are sometimes referred to as "worship songs" and this, quite sadly, has given some people the impression that we worship God only when we sing such songs.

True worship deals with all areas off human life. In other words, the art of worship can take place in church and everywhere else. You can worship God in your office and in your academic work as much as you can in church. You worship - not with your lips or actions, alone but - with your heart. God's relationship is with the heart since all off man's actions or inactions originate from the state of his heart.

Worship comes up in issues as little as drinking water, or eating biscuits. It can be pre-decided by asking oneself the question "What would God have me do?" At the end off whatever activity you have done, you can ask the question, "Was is really the will of God?"

That is what worship really is in simple terms. It is impossible to love God and not worship him. It is my prayer that YOU begin to worship Him, and if you already do, then you need to get to a higher level of worship.
